My tomato plants got very wet with heavy rains. The leaves are droopy. will the plant survive & what can i do

I cultivated the soil to help it dry out. any other suggestions would be great. the plants are loaded with fruit.

1. The plants droop thier leaves in a heavy rain to protect the leaf.





2. NEVER work wet soil, you'll cause it to compact air tight.





3. If the plants are in the ground and the water has drained off, just leave them alone.





4. If the plants are in pots then make sure they drain well.





Either case they need good exposure to the sun to help prevent fungus/rot.

Reply:They should perk up in a day or two but don't mess w/ the dirt again. Not only can u compact it by working wet, but u may have hurt the roots, ultimately killing the plants or opening the roots to pests and fungus, with the same end result.
