How can i get rid of the ants on my tomato plant? :(?

Funny question...i know.

But, why are there ants on the stems of my tomato plants?

Like whole bunches of them all huddled together, i sprayed water on them and they are drifted off and drowned lol.

Point is, how can i STOP them from coming back?!?!

How can i get rid of the ants on my tomato plant? :(?
The ants are after aphids. Aphids are tiny bugs that suck the juice out of leaves. The ants don't eat them, they milk them like cows. Yuck. Ants are quite the little farmers, and will even move them around to other plants. They also herd other pests. The aphids produce a sugary substance the ants are after. Once the aphids are gone, so goes the ants. You can hose them off with the sprayer on medium. They reproduce quickly. I would hose them every other morning, with extra attention to under the leaves. Do not wet the leaves in the midday sun, or they will burn. And if you wet the leaves at night they are prone to powdery mildew.
Reply:Give them something else to eat, such as a Combat Ant Tray under that tomato plant. Soap water is good, but Ants aren't called Pests, for nothing. They're good at finding a way around most everything; so, you feed them !!
Reply:yup.. spray them with water then ummm.. drill around tomato plant then fill it with water around it make a hole around it and put some dividers.. search in google for some suggestions
Reply:SET TAGATIES BETWEEN YOUR PLANTS THIS WILLALLSO KEEP AWAY GREEN AND BLACK FLY.
Reply:Buy a insets killer nontoxic to the plants.
Reply:tell d ants politely dat if they thought dat ur plant is their home then they are wrong i think they shud use u as their home.isnt it.

BYE AUNTY
Reply:i dnt know but i put soap and water in a spray bottle and spray mine plants ......happy planting!
