How often should you water your homegrown tomato plants? I don't want to over or under water them. Thanks.

homegrown or store bought - makes no difference when watering. If your soil drains well, watering every morning won't hurt the plants. Tomato plants are like tobacco plants in that they're made up of a lot of water.

If they aren't getting enough water, as soon as you see the stems and/or leaves starting to wilt, water them well. Take care not to splash water on the plant and don't water too late in the evening.

When planting them, to ensure giving them a good 'trunk' (main stem they grow on), trim off the lower leaves just above where the trunk meets the soil and plant in a hole at least twice as deep as the usual planting depth. (Hope that made sense.)

it depends on how much rain you get. I would say they need water every day or two whether it is a good amount of rain or you water them.
