Do your tomato plants have tomatoes yet?

My patio plant does not. Anything I can do? Its strong, no bugs %26amp; smells wonderful (it's my first)

Do your tomato plants have tomatoes yet?
I picked my first red tomato on July 24 and I live in Michigan. I have been picking one a day, at least, since then. They are "early girl" varieties, though, and my other tomato plants are still green, but I do have tomatoes. Do you have any fruit, or just foilage? My first experience many, many years ago with tomatoes - I used lots of miracle grow throughout the season, and the plants grew darn near 6 feet tall and sturdy and smelled wonderful, but no fruit. Apparently the miracle grow encouraged the foilage, but no blooms. Do you even have any flowers blossoming on the plant? If not, you may want to get your soil tested and use a bloom booster next year. Good luck! Home grown tomatoes are the best, by far!
Reply:I have picked approx, 5 - 5gal buckets in the last month. I will be picking another this evening. I have white ones, red ones, orange ones and pink ones. Each are heirlooms.

Tomato's love the sun, make sure your plant gets at least 6-7 hours of sun each day. Less sun the longer it takes to ripen.
Reply:I'm just starting to get green tomatoes, but I grew mine quiet unconventionally.
Reply:I got 2 ripe tomatos yesterday, and more to come......I am in KY where we have had a good mix of sun and rain...
Reply:Does it have blooms? If there are no little yellow flowers and no bees to pollinate, you wont get tomatoes.
Reply:Mostly a lot of green just starting to turn.

In Northern Ohio

Planted them kinda late

Potted tomatoes are a bit tougher than in the ground, most tomato variety's root systems get really big %26amp; pots just don't have all the soil tomatoes would like. You said Patio which is an actual variety bred to be kept in a pot %26amp; yeids medium sized low acid tomatoes. So you have an advantage there.

Fertilize fertilize fertilize

Get one specifically for tomatoes ~ Tomato-Tone is one

Follow the directions

Make sure not to let it wilt

Make sure it's getting a good 6 or more hours of sun

GOOD LUCK!
Reply:it might not flower this year.. because its the first year for the plant.... when it starts to get cold bring it in.. if you put it in a warm sunny place you might have tomatoes in the winter.. are there any flowers on it?
Reply:Where are you located? I'm in Maine, and have just green tomatoes so far. Have you fertilized it? Some people swear that you should pinch off the very top of the plant, and that it encourages the sprouting of tomatoes.
Reply:yes last week they turned red
