What is this pest on my Tomato plants??

It looks like like the markings of a Lady bug (red with black spots), but it is a fat wormy thing. Yuck. If I know what it is, I may be able to get rid of it.

Thanks

What is this pest on my Tomato plants??
What you've described is the larval stage of the Colorado Potato Beetle.

Here's a website so that you can see if I'm correct;

At this site, there's a number of insecticides suggested but as homeowners, we're only able to purchase a couple of them. The safest and easiest method of control is to use "Sevin". It can be purchased at any hardware/garden shop and sprayed onto the foilage.

Hope this helps solve your problem. GOOD LUCK!

Reply:May be its a ladybug larvae. Don't kill it, love it
Reply:It's hard to tell without seeing them. Try this site and see if your insects are listed. http://ipm-dd.orst.edu/potato/
