How cold can Growing Tomato Plants in utah before it Freeze ?

The previous person was correct, Zero tolerance for a freeze, and not much tolerance for cold below approx 45 F. They are a plant originating from South America (to quote some scientists, as they say that is the only area of the world where there are natural wild plants).

Note; Tomatoes need 65° F or 18° C to germinate. It is OK to plant tomatoes in the garden when the temperature is a consistent 50° F. Blossom drop can occur in early spring when daytime temperatures are warm, but night temperatures fall below 55 degrees F as well as in summer, when days are above 90 degrees F and nights above 76 degrees F.

Tomatoes have zero tolerance for freeze. This time of year you need to keep a close eye on the nightly temps.

It doesn't gain much to get them out to early they just set and wait until warm temperatures to start growing. I have seen my neighbors set them out later and had tomatoes the same time I did. Neighbor from Ida. Good luck
Reply:It's not so much cold that kills off tomato plants as cold and wet. They really don't like a lot of rain. What you could do is grow them in a container so you can move them under an overhang if it gets to wet.
