Why are my tomato plants leves dying?

Time to move on...................

Why are my tomato plants leves dying?
You might not water them enough. Or there could be bugs eating them.
Reply:I don't think this was a good year for tomatoe plants...ours didn't come up too good either.
Reply:Not Sure what season you are currently in. i am in Australia and it is the end of winter here at the moment. Tomatoe plants will actually start to die off naturally at the end of their growing season (usually late summer). Whilst they do this they put all of their energy into ripening and remaing fruit. If you plant hasn't fruited yet then your soil may need to have some magnesium added. You shoudl be able to buy a product called sulpur of potash in a plant nursey that will help with this issue.
Reply:I'm probably the wrong person to answer this question bcz I successfully killed 3 tomato plants this year. Maybe you could learn from my mistakes though. It was too hot this year for us to grow toms here. If the leaves are burned it could be a fertilizer problem. If they are just wilting you should avoid watering in the heat of the day bcz the water will heat up and "cook" the leaves. If they look like something is eating them you need a pesticide of some kind. I'm sure they make natural ones that are not poisonous except to the bugs. You may have to shelter them partially from the sun and give them extra TLC to get them through the year.

Hope u have better luck than I did. The fruits of my labor consisted of 1 surviving cherry tomato.
Reply:Check for Snails and put out snail bait... Well that is what I did when my plants started dying. Good luck :)
Reply:You can blend you kitchen scaps and pour this on them along with your normal watering.

They may need nitrogen. Kitchen scraps are high in nitrogen.

Plants need nitrogen to produce fruit.
