Why did my tomato plants with manure in it die?

too much fertilizer???

Why did my tomato plants with manure in it die?
FERTILIZERS ARE OK BUT IN MODERATION THEY DON,T NEED A LOT. AND IT IS BETTER TO USE JUST COMPOST IT HAS ALL TH NUTRIENTS THE PLANT WILL NEED AND WONT UPSET THE BALANCE OF THE SOIL,S P.H
Reply:u mean natural compost ? if it is, it has kind of gas in d manure, so to use it, u need to keep in a different place so that the gas don't harm d new plant. a young plant is like a baby, it's too sensitive, n when d manure is totally old like at least of 1 week, then use it. n if u use manures that r not natural, i mean artificial, then be more careful. mix d artificial manure with water n keep it like that at least 2 days, then use.
Reply:The manure has to be well rotted and tomato plants require lime. Also, while they should be watered regularly too much water will cause blossom end rot on the tomatos destroying them
Reply:too strong!

those little roots were fried by the manure, manure needs to be old and composted before it's used in the garden,
Reply:Maybe the plants were too small when you added the fertilizer. You didn't say where they were growing- in pots or outdoors in a garden. As long as the plants are fairly mature a little fertilizer shouldn't kill them. Maybe keep the fertilizer away from the central plant stem too so that it doesn't cause the roots to burn.
Reply:You probably got too much of the nitrogen rich fertizer on the stem and leaves of the plant. Don't get so close to it next time.
Reply:TOO SALTY!!
