Tomato plants....does anyone know,?

what i've done wrong ??? i've had 3 georgeous bushy beef tomato plants which were doing really well up until this week. although i've watered them carefully, the leaves look all wrinkly and dried, and the fruits themselves have started to get a brownish waxy discolouration at the point where they are attached to the plant. i've pulled off most of the healthier green fruits to ripen on my windowsill...but i'm not sure what has gone wrong with them. thanks.

Tomato plants....does anyone know,?
UK. I have grown toms for the past 30 years and give most of them away. This year has been a disaster, I have not had one tomato, even though I have 12 plants, some in some out, its the wrong weather and lack of sun, that's whats caused yours to go off.
Reply:All of the above answers are correct, but there is one more thing it could be. Bores and to get rid of them you need to dust them with seven-dust about once a week. Also, make sure when you water the plants not to spray the leaves in the heat of the day. Only spray the dirt around the base of the plant and not the leaves or fruit.
Reply:It is probably potato blight. Tomatoes are from the same family as potatoes so are affected by the same diseases.

You have not done anything wrong. You can spray using Murphy Traditional Copper or Vitax Bordeaux Mixture which may save your crop if it has not gone too far.
Reply:Hi Lou-Lou, there is a lot of tomato blight this year. if the fruits have developed reasonably well, get rid of all the diseased fruit and strip the leaves right off leaving the fruits on bare stems. Keep watering them ( the same amount at the same time each day if you can and give a fertilizer ( tomorite or similar) once a week. Hope this helps Good luck!
Reply:tomato plants are prone to get fungus diseases where they will show the symptoms they are showing............it is most often caused by humidity and high heat or high humidity and very cool nights so the best thing to tell you is that dont water at night and dont keep it too moist hope this helsp you
Reply:sounds like a fungal infection, caused by not enough air getting around the leaves etc, any leaves and stalks that you dont want, can be pruned out, if there are too many it stops the sun getting to them properly aswell, give it a prune
Reply:go to tescos every little helps
Reply:well sometimes it gets lil bit of water or 2 much sun comes in front of the plant.
