Tomato plants, which stems should i snip to make it grow more tomatoes?

Been growing tomatoes for 40 years and have never snipped anything. Raising a garden is pretty hard work and fooling with anything as foolish as "Removing the suckers" is in my opinion just a waste of time. I garden in deep south TEXAS and plant tomatoes two times a year. My advice for growing more tomatoes is simply to maintain moisture and nutrition levels in your garden, keep the weeds down, wait and enjoy. Keeping the weeds down is enough snipping without looking for, or maybe creating, another problem.

yeah, if you want more tomatoes don't snip anything, if you want fewer but bigger ones, snip off the growing points, that sprout kind of in the armpits where the branches come off.
Reply:if your plant is say 2 feet tall, it is time to start removing the spurs that grow at the junction of the main stem and a branch,, you can see little leaves trying to sprout here,, just pinch them off..
Reply:If leaves turn yellow and as they grow taller you an pick the sucker leaves but dont makes this a habit.*
Reply:Check this link out. Apparently, you don't have to necessarily snip or clip to get great results so sayish the newbie greenthumbs!
Reply:Snip the ones that grow in the "elbow" of existing stems. If there are more than one tomato flower per end, snip off all but one. This will not only help the plant branch more, but will increase the size of the tomatoes.
Reply:I just plant them.... lots of water and lots of sun. I've never snipped at all and I get great production. I really don't think it's necessary to snip.
Reply:The very lower ones on the plant stem. You will see that the ones that you are needing to snip off grow slightly downward instead of up actually. These are nearest the soil.
