Are tomato plants poisonous to Chickens??????

Could anyone tell me if tomato plants are poisonous to chickens as i know they are to some animals.

Also if anyone knows of anything else that could harm them in a garden

Are tomato plants poisonous to Chickens??????
the chickens typically only eat the bugs that are on the plants( so avoid bugspray), and i couldn't find any info in web search says if they are poisonous to any animal.

chickens won't eat anything that makes em sick, really, but they will eat mice if you have those in the coup, so don't use arsenic, it can transfer animal to animal.
Reply:I just asked my Fiancee- she has a few pet chickens. She said that she doesn't think the tomato plants are poisonous to chickens. But the plants themselves don't taste very good, so a chicken probably wouldn't eat it anyway.

There are a few things in a garden that you should protect your chickens from:

1. Pesticides

2. Herbicides

3. Potato skins

4. Avocados
Reply:TOMATO (Lycospersicon evculentum); vines. suckers: gastrointestinal tract affected by solanine glycoalkaloids.
