Is anyone elses tomato plants suffering due to the rubbish british weather?

UK ? yep, everyone is complaining about this. They shot up with the nice weather a month a go but now no fruit because of the rain %26amp; clouds.

We've got 7 acres of garden and veg so you can imagine there is a lot of time invested in these time-wasters.

Come on Tom, we can't wait forever !

maybe next week ?

Is anyone elses tomato plants suffering due to the rubbish british weather?
My tommies seem to be doing quite well this year, I have already picked a few pounds, and the plants are absolutely laden down with them....sorry I know that's no help to you.
Reply:mine are not suffering because they are still in the packet
Reply:Well, my friends mum's tomatoes are coming along really well. So i don' think they've suffered.

However, my next door neighbour grows runner beans, and they're not growing at all. So i think it depends where you live and where they're planted.
Reply:yes. Mine are just not taking off, have one with two flowers on but no height to it...oh swizz
Reply:sounds as if they are in wet soil and lacking sun can u put them in a more sheltered sunny spot if not to big can u put them indoors if not sheild them with a polythene screen

i was late sowing my seeds so mine have been on my windowsill indoors and are doing ok.
Reply:I live in the United States, in Kentucky. I don't know what the word rubbish means in the UK, but if it means drought, I put wood chips around my tomatoes to kill weeds and keep the ground wet.
