The blooms are falling off of my tomato and eggplant plants and I cannot figure out why.?

I live in Tx in the Dallas area and it has been very hot here(not sure if that could be a reason)

The plants look very healthy and are full of blooms and have been for weeks but nothing more happens, the blooms just fall off.

The blooms are falling off of my tomato and eggplant plants and I cannot figure out why.?
I recently answered a similar Q.

Too much, or too little water

Too much, or too little sunlight

Too much touching those buds

Inadequate drainage

I noticed something recently that amazed,,, or enlightened me,,, and I've been in that area most of my life.

The bud,, that did it, was one Ive been following, and noticed one night that a pea sized green thing was swallowing/absorbing the flower/bud. It became the tomato from a way I never realized. I thought the buds dropped, allowing the fruit to grow from the place where the bud/flower was.

In any case, I'm rambling.

The soil need only be soaked initially, then monitored for moisture content,,,to the roots, every other day, depending on all other environmental conditions,,, BTW mine are growing in pots.

Get a decent moisture meter,,,gauge and test it to the depth of the root base.

allow adequate drainage, no matter in pot or ground, shade them slightly with screening if they get too much sun and be patient. Trim yellowing or dying leaves/stems to relieve plant stress, and let me know what happens.

BTW,,still rambling,, I dislike Eggplant. I was once fooled by Egg Plant Parmingiana, being told it was veal,,,LOL
Reply:These plants will naturally lose their flowers as the fruit develops, but it they are dropping off without setting fruit it could be the hot weather or lack of water. Thoroughly water the plants, don't just give them dribbles of water - and try to keep the area around them fairly humid.
Reply:TOMATO PLANTS LOVE THE SUN! Do not overwater them or give themt oo little water.

You have to watch them every day for the tomato caterpillar bug that loves to eat them! they are green with black dots sometimes you cant see them because htey blend in with the plant itself. You have to literally pluck them offr the vines by hand. Or use some non harmful alternative from the store.

If yuou think its the heat affecting them, try installing a sprikler like system nearby that water the space around this cools off the environment by at least a few degrees and gives some breathing of coolness to your plants.

the sprinkler system i talk about is not planted onground, but rather installed on the walls or fences to shoot horizontally. It does the job for heat problems from weather and plants growing.

water your plants either early before the sun comes up or when near dawn so they dont get fried by water and heat.

I dont know a lot about eggplants other than its taste but i think it would be the same way.
