Is it ok to put tomato plants in peat free multi purpose compost?

Yes , it sure, is! Mine are doing well in it. Remember to pinch out the top of the plant once you get the first fruit, so it puts all it's energy into the fruit not growth.

Is it ok to put tomato plants in peat free multi purpose compost?
yes it is ,but i get better crop if i put contents of grow bags into pots .
Reply:Speaking from experience they love compost! we just spread compost around all of our plants and they perked up right away. I hava a half barrell that we just put leafcompost in and the tomato plant shot out and is covered in Tomatoes.Personally I think that is the best for them. just be sure to buy some red mulch ,it increases crop also !
Reply:Yes i did that in my garden and i had an amazing crop of tomatos! Make sure it is well mixed with the original soil.
