Looking to find out what kind of light bulb I need to grow tomato plants inside?

You need a full spectrum plant light. The number of hours you will need it on depends on what part of the growing cycle you are in. The seeds need less light than the plants when they are setting fruit. You can check the numbers at a local agricultural university or the extension service. I hope this helps.

tomato plants.....sure.....
Reply:A good grow lamp that is full-spectrum should work well. I have also been hearing (although I have not as yet had the opportunity to try it) that tomatoes grow especially well under red bulbs and/or with red mulch.
Reply:Walmart carries Glow lites they are in the hardware dept.

you don't have to have the special floresent one you can use the type the screws into a regular socket.
Reply:just a gro light bulb, they are about 20 bucks a shop light and a couple of them with some reflective foil which is helpful.

Humidity is a problem, you might want to run a humidifier (an hour a day) or keep a fresh bowl of water sitting near them. The heater dries the air out inside. Let the soil dry out before watering, a moisture meter will help with this, about7$
Reply:no specific light bulb for "tomato plants" inside they'll grow with good light anywhere.
