My tomato plants have plenty of lush foliage but no blossoms, what's up with that?

Here is what my tomato book tells me. Flowering of the plants depends greatly on the temperature experienced by the plants at night. The plant seems to flower best with hot days and nights that get to around 70 degrees. To enhance flowering you should avoid watering during sunlight hours and water after dark, misting from the top of the plant to allow the water to bring the plant temperature down slowly. Don't water for a long period of time, just enough to wet the plants and cool them down for the night. Good Luck!

Too much fertilizer?
Reply:If others in your area are flowering, I'd bet you fed them too much nitrogen, which would keep them in the vegetative state too long. You could give them a little superphosphate and that might over come the excess nitrogen. Be careful, tho, not to use too much.
Reply:your might be watering to much.pinch the top out of them.it well spreed out and should start blooming
Reply:In all likelihood, you have over-fertilized. Too much nitrogen will make foliage and no blossoms. Water them very deeply to flush the fertilizer down, and then let the soil dry to about two inches before watering agian. Repeat this throughout the season, and I think your plants will be loaded! Next year use Osmocote fertilizer at the beginning of the season and then once more after the plants have fruit on them, and I guarantee great results.
Reply:nothing, they'll have blossoms in their time
Reply:once again, depends upon where you live. Here in Fl. our tomatoe plants do well in the spring and fall. Once we get into late may and June they flourish with growth and blossoms but do not produce fruit. The heat and humidity are too much for most vegetable plants. However, we do grown cherry type all summer long.
Reply:Make sure that you are pinching the tops, that way the plant will not be using it's energy growing. Try Mircle Grow it is wonderful stuff. Ant good fertilizer will also do, I just love it. I have so many tomatoes I have to give away some.
