WHAT make your tomato plants produce more?

IS there a better name plant , like better boys?

WHAT make your tomato plants produce more?
Use Miracle Grow for tomato's. There are several varieties of tomato's. I have two different types planted. Better Boys and Heat Wave. I live in north central Texas and the summers here can get pretty hot. I have had good luck with both varieties.
Reply:I grow Romas. I fertilize and add lime and be sure they are well watered, particularly when it gets hot.
Reply:I'm not sure about more tomatoes, but if you want sweet tomatoes, then water sparingly. Water only "just enough" and don't water daily. This will produce some very delicious tomatoes...
Reply:LOVE.
Reply:the best way to grow tomatoe plants is full sun!!! that's really important and alot of water. miracle grow once every 2 weeks. the better boys are the real big ones. there's alot of different ones. you have to ask someone at the garden place. i had really good luck with the plums too.
Reply:I've found there are a couple things:

1. How they are planted: If you ever get the tall ones, plant them so that the extra length of stem is in the ground. It will grow roots and help the plant grow more by making the root system larger. This can be done by making the hole a little deeper and pinching off a few of the bottom leaves or by making a trench and laying the plant on it's side then angling the last portion up as the stem protrudes through the ground.

2. Fertilizing: Miracle Grow works, but not as well as if you add rabbit manure. The combination of the two together works really well. I've used rabbit manure for years and mine grow 2-3 times larger than any of my neighbor's do. I read an article a number of years ago where the guy who holds the world record said that he used rabbit manure also.

3. Sun %26amp; Water: Tomato plants love plenty of sun and water. They do well in sunny hot temperatures as long as they have the water to go along with it. If they have both, they will grow like a weed almost.

4. Stake it well. Make sure to get a plenty big enough cage. You don't want to switch to a bigger cage later.

5. The right kind of plants. Here are some of my favorites:

For most pounds of tomatoes: Big Boy (my personal favorite)

For nice big round sandwich tomatoes: Supersteak

For the biggest tomato: Delicious

For nice small tomatoes: Celebrity

For paste/sundried tomatoes: Roma

6. Keep watering constant. If you let your tomatoes dry out then water them good, just like a mellon they will want to crack.

7. There is no reason to pinch. The article from the guy who raised the world's largest tomato stated this and I believe him. I've never gotten any more tomatoes by pinching suckers. It's a waste of time. Focus on the rest of what I told you. If you want to get one really big tomato, pinch the rest of the flowers off save that one then when the tomato starts growing keep the tomato itself shaded so it stays green and the skin stays tender and doesn't dry out. This will allow the tomato to get extra big. The tomatos are what suck the energy out of the plant no the sucker shoots.
Reply:big boy or the hundreds? i think thats the name- but i use miracle grow for tomatoes and they produce big juicy and numerous tomatoes
Reply:sun light and water
Reply:Remove all sucker plants, from the tomato plants.

Those are those tiny leaves that are between the main stem and leaves that are big, or limbs..

These rob the plant of nutrients, so that they wont produce as much, or, grow as much.
Reply:miracle gro
Reply:I love beefsteaks they tend to be great producers, and thrive in most any soil. If it is clay try mixing in loam, it helps for drainage. Also picking some tomatoes when small will ensure that others get plenty of energy from the plant. More focused growth, so at some stage I see what the plant is producing and begin pulling blossoms off to ensure a good crop.

Blessings on your soil
